Description
Chitai
Chitai is a traditional metal engraving craft practiced mainly in Telangana and parts of South India. The process involves beating metal surfaces such as brass, copper, or silver into designs. Artisans also use fine chisels to carve detailed patterns with great precision. Common motifs include floral vines, paisleys, and peacocks. Traditional themes are rooted in mythology and nature. Chitai work is often seen on jewelry, utensils, panels, and decorative objects.
